CHAPULIN

For the year 2018, the Government of the Federal District, through the Institute of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Transportation and Roads, launched a call for a contest that sought to motivate people and organizations to capture the design of the "Taxi of the City of Mexico".

The Chapulín is a vehicle that was conceived as a taxi from the beginning instead of having adapted a domestic car to the needs of this activity, as has happened since the beginning of the profession.

The name comes from the Mexican identity and the knowledge that the chapulin is immediately referenced to Chapultepec

Designed to achieve the maximum use of space, on the outside it is smaller than a subcompact, seeking to occupy the minimum space on the traffic lane; while inside it is spacious, with the capacity to carry four passengers and a driver, in addition to having a load capacity when using the interior variants.

It was taken into account that not all people have the same needs or motor skills, so the Chapulín takes into account elements of Universal Design to be used by people with different abilities, pregnant women, young children and people whose physiology differs from the standard mean.
